Divwatt (Pty) Ltd was established in February 1993 with the express purpose of developing and manufacturing high quality solar specific equipment.

Our first undertaking was the SOLASTAR project, a research and development program into a high efficiency submersible pumping system. After two short years of research and development the fruition of the SOLASTAR project was realised, and in 1996 the SOLASTAR solar powered submersible pump received the “Product of the Year” award from the Institute of Engineers. Many of our other innovative designs and products have also received various accolades; the WOZAMANZI hand pump received the same “Product of the Year” award from the Institute of Engineers a year later.  Other completed research and development programs include the TERRA and POWERSTAR, both products are set to revolutionise the inverter and peak power tracking solar charge controller markets respectively. 

We’ve had numerous of our products tested and approved by independent authorative organizations in various countries.  This includes the Solar Research Division of the University of Reading, U.K., the University of New Mexico, U.S.A., and the University of New South Wales, Australia.  We are currently working with the University of Shanghai, China, and the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. 

Our products have also been accepted as the international standard.  Our digital pump controller the SOLAR POWER OPTIMISER (SPO) has been, and is currently exported to numerous countries around the world, including the U.S.A., India, China and Australia.
